I've been asked about 'ellipsoidal lakes' - erosional basins filled with lakes, with typical case study of Laurentide Ice Sheet. It's really not something that I've seen in the literature. Does anyone have any good information on these features? #glacial #geomorphology #ALevel

Apparently these features are in the OCR A Level spec, and students can be asked about them, but there is very little online to support teaching this.
So far I can find only one article using this specific term... from 1972... https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/gsabulletin/article-lookup/83/4/1037
I think it includes the Finger Lakes in New York... any ideas ping @Diamictite @Jamie_Woodward_ @drkatewinter @mikekapglacier @IceSheetMike @realglacier
