Just came through Holyrood Park (traffic free wkd) onto Duddingston Rd West ( #spacesforpeople 🚲infra going in and 20mph signs 🎉🥳) and onto the #spacesforpeople protected 🚲 lanes on Duddingston Rd & almost cried. This is progress - thank you @lmacinnessnp 🙏🏼
Why is this important? Because finally we are seeing the development of actual routes that people can use. Of course the schemes aren’t perfect but they are game changing. If @welovehistory closes park permanently to through traffic we get a safe onroad route from Porty to city.
We couldnt have achieved this without thoughtful input by @SpokesPorty and @SpokesLothian - volunteers putting in time and energy to explain why 🚲 routes are needed and how they can be improved. So proud to have played a small part of this fantastic improvement for the city.
