Something i dont think is talked about enough with being trans is being constantly exhausted with the world around you. Everywhere we go, there are people who wish we didnt exist or actively seek to harm us and even though we might say "im used to it", it drags you down.
Dealing with the constant harrassment and fear mongering is exhausting. It truly is. Its in the news, on social media, pretty much wherever we go. But its not enough of a reason to stop being true to ourselves, so we keep pushing on.
Just keep in mind that even though a wound has scarred over doesnt mean the pain goes away. Sometimes its necessary to step away from everything for a while for your own sanity. Log off twitter for a while. Turn off the news on tv for a while. Talk to your loved ones more.
Rome wasnt built in a day. We may not be able to secure our rights as fast as we may want, but making sure we show up to every battle in our best condition allows us to fight more effectively. And making sure we are 100% requires self care. No matter what form that may take.
We are all in this together. If you see someone struggling, offer a hand. Sometimes all someone needs is someone to talk to for a while. Mutual support is our best way at staying stable in a world where everyone wants us dead or worse.
To circle back to my original point and end this thread;
Stop and take a breather for a while. Let yourself recover until you are feeling better and then return. Dont stretch yourself thin and wear yourself out. You need it and you have definitely earned it.
