buying in mercari, why we sometimes refuse rush purchases, why have a service charge, and others

a thread
Some sellers require commenting under the listing first before you can proceed to buy. This is for special requests like changing of shipping options, adding toploaders for pcs, etc.
There are also sellers who would sell per piece, so you’ve to let them know first how many are you buying.
“READ PROFILE FIRST”. This. Most sellers require their buyers to read their profiles before proceeding to checkout. Some of them would put ‘if you’ve read this, put a ★ at the end of your comment’ to check if you’ve really read their instructions.
They won’t hesitate to block the buyer or cancel the transaction if you missed their conditions.
GREETINGS. Unless the seller stated that greetings aren’t required, you must tell them sumn like ‘nice to meet you, thank you for letting me buy this item’.
RATINGS. Buyers have to give their ratings as soon as they receive the item (😊 or ☹️). I just knew this recently but sellers won’t receive their earnings if you don’t rate them. I got a ☹️ rating before bcs I didn’t know that it was required and thought the transaction +
was already finished upon receipt of item.
PACKAGING. Though most of the sellers gives effort in their packaging, there are still some that don’t. I have bought lightsticks before that were only wrapped in an old newspaper plus the waybill. The items were safe, but for obvious reasons, repacking is needed, thus +
The extra ten pesos service charge. I hope y’all know that everything in Japan is expensive. For example, three toploaders (for pc) cost around 50 pesos. For three pieces! And it’s not even the best quality.
RECHECKING OF ITEMS. I’ve never rechecked arrived goods before but I heard that not all sellers are trustworthy. Like there may be no cd inside the album, or there’s a flaw in an item that wasn’t stated in their listing description, etc.
There you go. End of thread.. maybe? 🙃
