This thread is designed to explain to you how the unionists feel about Alba.

We have attached an article at the end of this thread from a unionist perspective on the voting system at Holyrood.
This article (at the end of this thread) demonstrates their serious concerns about losing List Seats.
It is not a unique article; most unionists with knowledge of how the Scottish parliamentary voting system works are worried about the prospect of a Referendum being significantly speeded up because of the tactical voting of Independence supporters.
Unionists recognise that in 2011 their sleepy approach to voting meant the SNP swept through to victory.

After the 2014 Indyref & the appointment of SNP MP’s in large numbers to Westminster in 2015, unionists worked to “max the unionist vote” by virtue of tactical methods.
Labour literally helped the Tories and vice versa.

In other words, they ‘gamed’ the system to ensure the 2016 election rewarded the unionist efforts. In fact, they were helped in this regard by the SNP, who decided on a voting tactic now known as #BothVotesSNP.
This method essentially handed the unionists their List Seats. They were helped by this process. SNP supporters with no knowledge of the voting system were inadvertently handing unionists seats in our parliament.
Let’s not make this mistake again.

We can maximise the Yes votes by analysing the areas where tactical voting will work for the Independence movement.
We are pro-Independence & seek it as quickly as possible, & certainly before our country is wrecked by Westminster rule.

This is what the unionists fear; genuine pro-Yes support which equates to a reduction in their numbers. Please think carefully when voting.
