Andrew Yang is once again musing about things he knows nothing about, rather than seeking out those affected and LISTENING. Women carrying a fetus to late term (after 24 weeks) are extremely rare - CDC says 1.3% of abortions in 2015 were after 21 weeks. Here is why:

Reasons for late term abortions are due to life-threatening complications or barriers to abortion that have pushed them past the 1st trimester. Abortion care at hospitals is not widely available & can be v expensive, compounding the barriers exp'd by women seeking later term care
Many people experience logistical delays such as difficulty in finding a provider, raising funds for the procedure and travel costs. 6 states have a single abortion clinic.
Abortion patients who were white, college-educated, U.S.-born, ≥12 weeks pregnant, and lived outside metropolitan areas were more likely to travel farther. Nearly one-fifth of those seeking abortions had to travel 50 miles or more to a clinic because it was the closest.
In 2012, only 34% of all facilities that provided abortion in the United States offered the procedure at 20 weeks’ gestation; 16% did so at 24 weeks.
Many state laws put in place even more obstacles requiring waiting periods, extra visits to the dr. and straight up mandating that providers give misinformation regarding the implications of an abortion
Everyone enraged by ignorance around later term abortions should donate to @abortionfunds which provides funds in most states for any person needing an abortion and can’t afford one. The only thing to celebrate is the work being done to make abortion access available for all.
