"Transhumanism" is going to be a really loaded term over the next several decades

The way that "Nationalism" "Capitalism" "Democracy" "Socialism" "Communism" were in the 20th Century

Huge battleground by competing ideologies just to DEFINE what is meant by "Transhumanism"

One side, as you might expect, will advocate for the infinite frontier, for life extension, for Science, for the Overcoming of Man and the advancement of the species

This will likely be the "popular" understanding of the phrase

Other side will of course have some basic Luddite "don't play God" elements

But will also have VERY credible counterpoints
-Unintended consequences
-Global control/distribution apparatus
-Naive Empiricism+Scientism™

They'll be right to scrutinize Transhumanist power structures

The Overcoming of Man is a great ideal and I would like to participate in the advancement of the species into the infinite frontier, truly

I am also skeptical of all the people that would be empowered to make such decisions; would only do so on my own terms

As with all the loaded 20th Century Ideologies I mentioned, my solution is to simply try to eliminate usage of the phrase altogether

"Transhumanism" will be an impossibly large bucket meant to reduce HUGE complexity & nuance
