recently a lot of people started talking about racism again. i’m so happy we’re having these conversations, because they’re very important. we can share our experiences, and people feel like they’re not alone anymore. we learn and educate others.

i did some research on what racism is and why it exists:
basically one of the main points is because of different we are, and the mindset you got taught and grew up with. having a racist household will most likely make you have racist thoughts too. usually racism consists out of

making fun of other race and ethnicity’s appearance, habits and culture. this is because they’re used to living in different ways. so other’s might seem strange to you.
obviously this is wrong, because we need to appreciate other’s cultures. usually this is the reason of racism

now what does this have to do with my kpop account ? as u may have noticed, a lot of idols’ ( and people in general ) past have been brought up, where they’re done and said racist things. some of that even happened recently.

it’s very important we hold our idols ACCOUNTABLE and EDUCATE about the very wrong things they’ve done. if your culture is affected, you have ALL rights to be mad and call them out as much as you like. and if there’s an apology, it’s the affected people who choose whether it’s
accepted or denied. if it’s not YOUR culture that’s affected, you have no right to speak on it, except educating and listening. that should be clear.
now, what the issue is. i’ve seen a lot of people straight up HATING on idols who’ve done racist shit. and with hate i mean very

unnecessary hate. they say and do horrible things that will make the issue even worse. and the worst part is that most of them aren’t even the affected group. hate will really make nothing better, but only worse. they should learn to just educate and make sure the idol nd company
KNOW what they did wrong and why. push them to apologise as much as u can. DONT hate. that will lead to worse things. DONT discredit the idols for things they have done right.

ik what they did is VERY wrong and i agree that u can be mad. but be careful with your words because they can even make it worse for YOU.
