2.) 34.3% Muslims in WB work as casual workers (India figure is 26%)
Essentially, more Muslims are engaged in insecure casual employment or self-employment in WB.

3.) Earnings of Muslims in WB are lower than those of Muslims in India.
On an average, a Muslim self-employed worker in WB earns Rs. 6,197 per month as compared to Rs. 10,192 a month in other states.

Education:

1) According to All India Survey of Higher Education, only 7.8% in 2018-2019 of teachers in colleges in the state were Muslims. (This has increased from the earlier 3.12% in 2012-13 but is still way below the community's proportion of 27% in the State.)

2) Muslim faculty in universities of WB account for only 7% and a major chunk of it is only due to Aliah University (a university under the Ministry of Minorities in WB).

3.) Muslims have the lowest literacy rate as well in the state at 57.47%.
