And exactly the same framework applies to the decision to continue giving (and receiving) an $AZN vaccine with a known but miniscule risk
The pervasive mentality of “its better to be conservative when we dont have enough data” kills people in a pandemic - because the landscape has shifted from our “normal”

Many very smart people have been slow to recognise that (and scientists may be the worst at it)
Its a bit like people who wont wear masks because its so hard to generate robust, unequivocal proof they work
