The best way to become an outstanding marketer is to understand your customer

7 Great rules of marketing by Eugene Schwartz.

A thread...
1. Be the best listener you have ever met.

Just listen to what the market is saying.

Schwartz used to get into a taxi and start interroagting the cab driver, because that's a great way to tap into what the market is saying
When you do that, you are able to

1. Write copy that directing targets their minds
2. Market your products more effectively because you know.
2. Work Extremely intensely.

This increases your productivity.

Focus all your energy on one thing, don't multi-task. When you are done, then move on to the next task.
3. Never "Create", know the product to the core and combine the details in a new way.

Research the product until it surrender its strength to you.

Know it inside out.

Don't create anything new, just find all its existing strengths and combine them in a new way.
4. Write to the Chimpanzee brained - Simply and directly.

Never overestimate your custoner's intelligence.

They may not be as smart as you think.

Write as though you are writing to 10 year olds
5. Channel demand - Never sell

You do not need to create desire for your product.

You take an existing demand in the market and channel it into your products.

For Example. For a market that is into making money online, the desire is there already, channel it to your product
6. Think about what the product "does" and not what the product "is" then demostrate this.

Let the features take a back seat, talk instead about the benefits and even more about the emotional benefits.
7. Failing often and testing big differences shows that you are trying hard enough!
