@DylanBurns1776 I thought you wanted to embrace the pageantry and competition of wrestling, rather than the prejudice, lying, and cheating of the Chairman, but sure, okay. I guess it's cool to watch a panel where trans people's fundamental rights are up for debate again...
Like, if you wanted to do the wrasslin' experience, couldn't we just do chairs and ladders instead? Why does it need to be about giving someone a hot mic to talk about being trans being a mental illness or a medical disorder? Why did it require not moderating the transphobia?
Some important points to takeaway from the Hippy Dippy Championship 4-way on April 10th:
1) It's not transgenderism. Being transgender is not an ideology. Some people just mimic other words. Ignorant, worth correcting, not very harmful. Some people do it to invalidate us and make us sound like politically fanatical deviants.
2) Trans people aren't mentally ill or the result of a disease. We're a natural variation. We face stress that other people don't face, but that's part of being human. It's really dehumanizing to pathologize us as a disorder.
3) Maybe stop people who want to argue about whether trans people deserve health care or full social equality. Is it cool to have a debate about whether some people are fundamentally human or not? I feel like this one should be a no-brainer, but, well...this thread.
4) If you know someone's pronouns you should use those pronouns. You should not use they as a cheat code for showing basic human respect. When it becomes clear you're doing it intentionally? That's still misgendering. It's not any better.
@DylanBurns1776, I am asking you for an apology. Not moderating the debate means that Hippy Dippy basically just exploited trans people and transphobia for views and popularity. I don't think you necessarily intended to do so, but that's still what happened.
