THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIAN FEMINISM

A lot of Nigerian feminists, especially on Twitter are just misandrists who are hiding under the guise of feminism to push their hatred of men. The Nigerian feminism is fast morphing into a club of bitter women who think MEN should be killed.

The level of cancel culture that thrives amongst them is astronomical. Let a man be accused of rape, even anonymously, before tomorrow these sad feminists will already write to their school, place of work to cut them off. Without verifying the accusation?!!!!

We’ve seen it on this poultry app. Men who were wrongly accused of rape, and these feminists e-lynched them, and later it was all a false accusation. They never came back to apologize. Never! How about how the trolled Izu till he committed suicide?

As much as it’s statistically proven that men indulge in more crime than women, that doesn’t mean that men cannot be victims. That doesn’t also mean that all men should be branded as evil. I remember chatting with one feminist and she said men need to be killed.

Something I find really prevalent is the demonization of patriarchy. Yes, I’m all for gender equality, I don’t just call myself a feminist anymore, but just because a man is patriarchal doesn’t mean he’s a terrible person! Nigerian online feminists don’t know this.

There’s this whole idea that if you don’t buy into the entirety of their feminist ideals, you’re terrible. No, they are the terrible ones, they want to shove it down people’s throats, without respecting people’s decisions, of course, as long as it doesn’t dehumanize anyone.

It’s okay for a man to be patriarchal. It’s okay for a man to want a woman who’ll submit to him, it’s okay for a man to want a woman who’ll cook for him. It’s really fine. I may not want that for my woman or women around me, but that man’s need is valid.

It’s also okay if a woman wants to be a housewife. It’s okay if she wants to pickup her husband’s name after marriage. It’s okay if she wants to submit to her hubby. It’s okay if she wants to cook and clean for her man. Traditional women’s ideas are valid too!

But I remember making a post about how a woman can choose to be a housewife and I was dragged by some of these vitriolic feminists. They said that a woman shouldn’t make a choice rooted in oppression lol. How are you “pro-woman do you”, but she can’t be a housewife?

Y’all know how I fiercely identified as a feminist, but as I got deeper into that institution, I saw myself losing decency and objectivity. Modern day feminism is fast becoming a mad house. Anyone who’s sane will see this.

Wasn’t it last year that some online feminists cancelled Chimamanda because she said that trans women are trans women? They began calling her a fraud, and how she’s not growing. One even tweeted: “dear feminists, it’s okay to outgrow your teacher...” lmaooo

Chimamanda is so correct with saying that some Nigerian feminists are just terrible and nasty people and that’s not feminism. For me, Chimamanda is the ideal feminist icon. She speaks with grace and compassion. You don’t have to agree with all she says, but her tone is respectful

The basic rubric of feminism is great. I am always pro equality and parity, but for me, modern day feminism is almost becoming a group of pained, nasty, hurt and terrible women who would always find reasons to smear men. I pray y’all get it better.
