"You see when my judgement is dictated by nostalgia It's actually judging what is good or not, when your judgement is dictated by nostalgia it means you're deluded and therefore wrong. My opinion outweighs yours because I'm older and therefore smarter."

My brain still hurts
Okay so apparently something can only be good if it has intense 90's and 80's nostalgia appeal, if it doesn't and you don't feel that feeling for it obviously it means it sucks, but not because it has no nostalgia appeal, it's just "bad" because it's "bad" and nothing else.
I am not a child when I am consuming the consuming the modern media meant for children, it was not made for me in mind but I'm going to say that because it has no appeal to me specifically that means it's objectively horrible.
Old internet criticism actually fucking blows and it's extremely biased.
Do you have nostalgic appeal for something? Oh? It's not for a 90's and or 80's property meaning we would have the same nostalgic appeal for something? Oh well, your deluded then because I specifically don't have nostalgia for what you like.
But it's not because I don't have nostalgia for it, it's because you're stupid and I'm smart. My brain dictates what is good or not as hard fact, it's not like opinions are all different viewpoints and that's alright or anything.
You dumb motherfucker.

Nostalgia literally dictates everything when it comes to opinions, only most people recognize that our thoughts on stuff can't be definitive on what is objectively good or bad, they're not facts.
If you have nostalgia for something bad and you go back to it and recognize it's bad, that's a thing.

If you have nostalgia for something quality enough to have you remember it very very fondly and you still see that it's good today, that's another.
God forbid any sort of child born in the 2000's would have an opinion on their own of what they think they should like and not just obsessing over "the before time" where "You weren't born yet but everything better and you would want to be born in MY TIME WHICH WAS BETTER"
Because this dumb fuck thinks that for some reason you need to be from an old generation to dictate if the "kids" are getting what you had or not if they're being refed a repurposed property that they had as a kid.
Sonic came out in the 90's and he was a 90's kid, therefore only 90's kids should dictate how quality sonic is nowadays compared to what they think and what direction it should take to appeal to them and therefore everybody.
God forbid properties be built in mind to be "first times" for some kids (not that it matters if Sonic is designed with kids playing it in mind) and that it's okay for older properties to build themselves on being a good first time experience whenever they release a new game.
Not every piece of new media from a franchise needs to be a continuation of the former, Sonic is built with a very loose continuity and it's why it goes through so many eras, and that's okay.

Not everything needs definitive lore to be good.
Not everyone suddenly wants lord of the rings storytelling in a sonic game

"Well they're just stupid and not real fans"

Insulting the "other" is not a good way to convince them to believe you if that's your intention.
Pokemon black and white was designed in mind to be a good entirely new experience for first time players, to only encounter pokemon introduced in that gen until post-game, designs were hit and miss but you have to appreciate what they were going for.
Pokemon has always had this sort've thing in mind, to be a good first time for new players per gen, it's why we had repetitive tutorials for so long, games evolved but it took a while for GameFreak to acknowledge good options for older fans.
Any property is like this, each new addition can't just be a total addition as much as just seeing what works best and either changing or going along with it.

It's constantly going about improving the next experience if you see what works so much about the current one.
That's called progress, that's called evolving, that's called seeing what you can do to have it work next time in the modern age.

You cannot just call what is different or new "bad" all the time because it's not what you specifically want, that's being a manchild.
"It's not a property intended for childr-"

Motherfucker we all got into sonic as either kids or teenagers, you can't just get into something as a kid and demean it for being something that kids can get into years later, or say you know what they'd like compared to what they got.
"It was meant specifically for teenagers"

Yeah, and you got into it as a child.

I don't know what to tell you about something evolving overtime, these aren't a downgrade as much as just new modern content.
Wants of the manchild do not outweigh the wants of the child

And when they build something in mind for sonic fans they mean actual sonic fans, people who like sonic, not the "wrong sonic" or anything

That's being a big douche
It feels like you got insulted for being who you are in this fandom so you just assume the "other" are all just as equally terrible and that you need to have the same shitty takes as others.

All definites because you feel the need to claim "the other" are just "NOT REAL FANS"
"THEY SLITHERED FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE MARIO FANDOM TO PURPOSEFULLY MAKE OUR GAMES LESS GOOD TO RUIN US WITH THEIR AWFULNESS"

God forbid we still have to assume petty fandom wars affect everything and that people can't just genuinely enjoy something that you don't.
Bottom line is that Richard Kuta's stupid

He makes shitty takes all the time and then tries to play it off as either a joke or "people exaggerated or took it the wrong way because they're so easily offended"

I feel so unnaturally angry right now, might delete this thread idunno
It feels so weird to see this sort've stubborn "I am right and you are wrong"ness with fucking Sonic

Though maybe this is just a thing in every fandom and I've chosen to specifically pay attention to this aspect of it for whatever reason.
This is called being a stereotypical nerd.
