thread of renewal character introductions!! only for those who've yet to read the fic, so i'll be describing them as they are at the start of the fic rather than the current point!

luna xiao long

age: 17

semblance: empathy- the ability to sense the emotions of those around her

the eldest of yang and blake's two daughters, luna is the leader of team llac, but that doesn't mean she feels up to the task. anxiety-riddled and shy, she doesn't initially realize the leadership skills she's capable of.

luckily for her, she's on a team with her best friend, and a pretty cat faunus as well. now, if only she knew what to do about the fourth member of her team, who seems to resent her for something she cannot control.

lily sustrai

age: 17 (nearly 18)
pronouns: she/her (trans girl)
sexuality: bisexual
semblance: unknown

lily isn't going to beacon because she wants to- she's doing it because she feels like she has to. with the weight of an untrusted family name on her shoulders, she intends to prove her mother's worth as much as her own.

unfortunately, this means having to be on a team with people she'd rather not, including a very loud cat faunus from atlas, and the daughter of two of the people she partially blames for her family situation.

astra katt

age: 17
pronouns: she/her (trans girl, is okay with they/them)
sexuality: lesbian
semblance: radiant orb, the ability to create balls of light that can do damage if enough momentum is applied

if astra was going to get what she wanted out of hunstman training, she wasn't about to do it in atlas. not when beacon has nicer people, and much nicer scenery. she's here to have fun and kick ass.

but despite her genuine enthusiasm and cheerfulness, astra has deeper struggles hiding beneath the surface. to combat this, she holds onto her mother's words- never let people see that they hurt you.

cobalt scarletina

age: 17
pronouns: he/him (cis boy)
sexuality: bisexual
semblance: lithokinesis- the ability to control rocks, so long as they're of a reasonable size

though velvet is the only one who's his biological parent, cobalt was raised by all of team cfvy after tragedy struck. he tries to remain calm, collected, and kindhearted, though he's still got a lot to learn from coco when it comes to the former.

and despite how hard he tries to keep strong emotions from rising to the surface, he will never back down from defending injustice, even if it hurts him- in one way or another- to do so.

storm hunter

age: 17
pronouns: they/them (genderfluid)
sexuality: pansexual
semblance: unknown

to everyone around them, storm is the embodiment of cool. they seem to have it all together; the look, the intelligence, and the fighting skills. but they have deep flaws under the surface, and it may take a wakeup call for them to try and change.

yarrow cypress

age: 17
pronouns: he/him (trans boy)
sexuality: bisexual
semblance: the ability to create small, temporary forcefields or shields

there never seems to be much to yarrow. nervous to ever displease people, he goes with the flow and rarely speaks out of turn, especially when it comes to storm hunter. he is, however, capable of thinking for himself- it'll just take some time to dig that out.

summer rose-schnee

age: 15 (almost 16)

sexuality: lesbian
semblance: schnee glyphs

when one parent is the winter maiden, another is a schnee, the third a silver-eyed warrior, and all three the stuff of legend, summer has a hell of a legacy on her shoulders. it helps that she's also a natural leader- smart and courageous, if a bit clumsy.

her parents frequently insist to her that she doesn't need to follow in their footsteps to make them proud, but summer firmly believes she is suited for nothing else- she didn't name herself after her grandmother for nothing.

blaze xiao long

age: 15 (almost 16)
pronouns: she/they/fie
sexuality: bisexual
semblance: friction- the ability to heat up any object whe touched

luna's younger sister, blaze is a constant source of worry for her parents. with a wild and rash personality, blaze has a habit of throwing herself into trouble, and it doesn't help that her semblance is similar to that of an old enemy.

blaze is determined to believe that she doesn't need to be held back though- a flame cannot be stopped just because people ask it to. she also has a habit of accidentally setting fires.

april and lie ren-valkyrie

ages: 15 (almost 16)
pronouns: she/her (april, cis girl), he/they (li, boyflux)
sexuality: lesbian (april), ansexual (li)
semblance: lightning pole- can summon electiricity if weather-appropriate (april), cloudscaping- can control cloud formations (li)

the eldest of ren and nora's children, april and lie are as close as twins usually are, despite their differing personalities. april is usually quiet and doesn't speak much, but gets loud and excitable over topics of interest, while li tries- TRIES- to be serious and stern.

li usually speaks for the two, and april is often happy to let him- there's nothing he could say that she'd ever really disagree with. then again, maybe they're not quite as like-minded as they think.
