I walked in at the Manipal hospital. Note : This hospital does not show up in the @Arogyasetu app, but it is a registered hospital for the vaccination with most people in my society going there.
There are multiple lines you have to go in sequence for:
1. registration
2. pay the money ( Rs 250 )
3. Vaccination
4. Observation area & Vaccine Certificate
People still want to jump the queue as they will put one person in the registration queue and another will stand in the payment queue. Since this is a FIFO, it just means they block other people. The hospital staff was doing a wonderful job of trying to reason with these people.
The vaccination injection just took a minute or so. Highly professional nurses and I did not even feel the prick.
The waiting area is where it took me the most time (after the queues for registration and payment). The wait is being parallelized with the vaccination certificate, which takes around 1/2 an hour. So I spent the time reading Caliban's War by @JamesSACorey
Technically you can get the certificate online also. However, India being India, I decided to wait for the hard copy instead of having to come back later in case the certificate does not come through.
The certificate collection was a bit chaotic as they do not have a PA system and instead shout out the names. The vaccination setup is a tent out in the open and with the huge fans creating a din, its difficult to hear your name. So, there is crowding around the desk.
After 1/2 hour I got a SMS that my certificate is ready and can be downloaded. I tried with the #CoWIN app, but that does not work. It just fails to register you (see the google play ratings - everyone is complaining about that). So I waited more.
After another 15 mins (of crowding around the certificate desk) my name got called and I got the certificate and walked out.
In fact, I had walked to the hospital and back to my home. So in case someone is getting scared about the vaccination - nothing to worry about but the idiots in the line.
I wanted to get my pic taken while getting vaccinated like @narendramodi , but it is not allowed. I guess different rules for raja and praja. https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/1379974475278557187
The most asked question is "What are you side effects" ?

Not much:
1. There is numbness around the injection point (like how you get after taking a tetanus shot)
2. I have fatigue. One of the major reasons I did not tweet this yesterday when I took the shot.
Hopefully this thread helps people who are undecided about going for the shots. If you are in the age group - go and get it done.
