xiao zhan never uses his fans for his own gain nor does he encourage us to spend money unreasonably; instead, he’s always been looking out for us, even at cost to himself. he said his relationship with fans is one of mutual protection, and he’s always been holding up his end.
All 392,810 CNY from Tencent Star Chart charity event was donated in the name of “Xiao Zhan fans”. For other artists the proceeds were donated under their own names. When asked why, Star Chart replied that it was decided after Xiao Zhan Studio discussed with them.
His song, Red Plum Blossoms, was largely free but made available for sale on Weibo Music, soon they reached out to purchasers to let them know it will be refunded.
For Olay, they initially had a sales unlocking event (quite a common practice), but before fans could even start it was removed and changed to scheduled releases. To date, he hasn’t had any endorsement that required a number of sales to unlock gifts or bonuses.
His charity shirts were produced in Hubei, then he made sure they were checked for safety and quality in Beijing. For those who got a signed shirt, he thought of the fact that they wouldn’t want to wear the signed one, so he sent a regular shirt along with it.
Before the endorsement announcement, Molsion also had an event where they’d give away a signed glasses set to the top spender, but after his announcement it was changed to a lucky draw for everyone.
During the pandemic, he donated money (and supplies) without publicizing it and was attacked for months for not donating. Journalist later revealed that they asked him if he would accept an interview (about celebrity donations), but he said no, he just wants to donate quietly.
Xiao Zhan has always been the kind of person who does so, so, much more than he says, and his unchanging love and sincerity is clear as day to anyone who follows and supports him ♥️
