Hello, crypto gods, are you listening?

It's me, redphone & I have a confession to make...

Ohhh gods, I love synthetic stocks...

to me, they = freedom + fairness + a rung on the ladder to prosperity

They're everything a traditional stock isn't

(more 👇)
See, for the most part, you've got to be a rich mfer from a first-world country to buy Apple, Google and Microsoft shares (even if you use products from those companies every day)

NO EQUITY FOR YOU, POOR BI-OTCH!

Synthetic stocks change the equation
They're so much better than the walled-garden, over-regulated "securities" trading on "blue chip" stock exchanges that the idea of holding a stock in my Fidelity account or whatever almost makes me sick to my stomach

Give me something I OWN

Give me something I can transfer 24/7
Let me lend it

Let me borrow against it

Let me send it to a non-profit in West Africa if I so choose

I don't want you to hold my equity on my behalf (and determine if and when I'm allowed to sell it)...

The openness is wonderous and life-affirming and righteous
And yet, we know the Wall Street chubbies will wag their fingers

They will speaketh to their regulator friends and say, "by george, this just ain't right... it needs to stop at once"
The outcomes will be limited:

1) Regulators try to bring their hammers down on synth stocks
2) The open nature of synth stocks leads traditional stocks to become more open and accessible (with us maybe even seeing companies issue official "bridged" shares on public blockchains)
3) The old system implodes and there's a complete rebirth in equities and virtually everything financial

Option 1 sucks eggs (and would require a full-on regulatory assault on absolutely everything crypto)

Option 2 is unlikely
And Option 3, well... tbh this 🤡 is starting to wonder if it's a very miniscule but actual possibility

See, sometimes I think crypto has unleashed something so powerful and monumental it will outrun every dog
Will these years, right here, right now, be studied in history books for centuries to come?

Maybe...

You say it yourself, ohh gods, in the Book of Leviticus: every 50 years, mercy rained down on humanity. There was a Jubilee... debts were forgiven and slaves and prisoners freed
What a moment that would have been...

Oh, the wine they must have drunk. Oh the naughtiness that must have happened behind the donkey stalls

It was a time of joy + rebirth + resetting of decades of unrighteous repressions
Today, people talk of a debt jubilee happening again

It's an interesting concept, but ohhh gods, it's narrow

What if the manic, moon-pixie-rocketship rise of crypto, synths, DEXes, NFTs and encryption is a REGULATORY jubilee?

The Great Unburdening of Absolutely Everything...
What if 1984 isn't an authoritarian leader made of flesh and blood, but a book of laws so thick no printer can print it in a single tome?

A single act of congress (Dodd-Frank) = 848 pages

If the rules take 2 weeks to read... and 2 months to understand... how can you innovate?
That single act of congress = a leather strap around the throat of innovation

It does not protect... it oppresses

It barely lets us breathe

What if the centuries have laid so many layers of Dodd-Franks on top of us that we lost sight of the possibilities?
And now, crypto has come to re-open our eyes

Yes, ohh gods, I believe there is a chance this an epochal pivot

It is the beginning of DAOs replacing companies

Of cryptos replacing government money

Of stocks morphing into permission-less equity tokens
Of humans everywhere having equal rights to profit off the systems that sustain them
Perhaps this is what it was like to be alive during the Italian Renaissance... only one that wasn't limited to a single country, but one that happened synchronously around the world
Most see just synth stocks, but I know they're more than that

I know they're freedom, they're wine in cups that runneth over

The fluid dribbles down our chins, ohh gods

It warms our chests & reminds us that we are not here for our governments

But our gov'ts are here for us
