[♡] the vixen
-
the vixen is owed an apology from the drag race fandom. seriously. as the first queen to openly bring up a full discussion of racial bias and discrimination from drag race fans while on the show, she STILL receives racial abuse to this day despite- (cont.)
bringing up the important point that fans are less inclined to hold queens accountable for their actions if they are white. take the argument with aquaria in ep3 for example, vixen didn't start the argument, but was annihilated on social media for her reaction to it. why? (cont.)
i think an important thing to mention here is the vixen saying "everyone is telling me how to react, but no one is telling her how to act" in the context of her argument with eureka. you can not tell me otherwise that production CODDLED eureka, especially at the reunion. (cont.)
when vixen walked off set, rupaul gave this speech on how he got to where he is because "he learned how to act around people" but i struggle to find the relevance of that point when the argument was literally started because eureka provoked the vixen. (cont.)
why shame someone for reacting to being provoked instead of shaming someone for doing the provoking? why continue to fuel the angry black woman narrative that the vixen so clearly pointed out at the beginning of the season? as a black viewer, it still makes me- (cont.)
-so goddamn uncomfortable to watch that reunion episode because of the way everyone tells the vixen she must tone herself down, but the same energy is not held for eureka. this literally gives the implication that vixen is the aggressor. (cont.)
it is such a slap in the face to watch rupaul's drag race use symone as a poster child for their fake wokeness (no hate to symone), but continually use the angry POC queen edit every single season for views at the queen's expense, for example this season with kandy muse. (cont.)
the vixen was still villainised for walking away from a situation. that speaks for itself. @RuPaulsDragRace we're waiting for the apology
