ughghghghghgh can we please invent a single note value that fills a 9/8 measure because these dotted halves tied to dotted quarters look really stupid

alternatively we could teach string players to swing but I think it might be easier to invent an all-new base-3 notation system

600 years of western notation and we couldn't figure out something that looks better than this

Everyone in this thread who thinks we should just use whole notes for every time signature: I can think of so so so many ways that this will trip up performers and sabotage rehearsals, especially if used in parts, sorry but you're all wrong
