I am embarrassed to admit that I have hesitated to post #StopAsianHate because I worried it would seem like a meaningless gesture from me. I have been told by people close to me that my silence on this matter is hurtful and for that I apologize. 1/3

I can't begin to understand the pain this situation is causing the AAPI community. I regret that my silence on the matter can be seen as complicity and for some, has added to that pain. So I wanted to make this statement so my stance on the issue is clear. 2/3

I hope we as a country can one day overcome our deeply rooted racist past once and for all and move toward being a more equal society but that won't happen without all of us doing our part. We can be better. We must be better. 3/3
