Oregon’s has 224 laws that criminalize necessary life-sustaining activities like sitting, lying, resting, or eating in public. When someone has nowhere else to do these things, fines, fees, and a criminal record only further entrenches them in homelessness https://wraphome.org/what/homeless-bill-of-rights/oregon-r2r/
Oregon HB2367:
Prohibits law enforcement, security personnel, or public employees from harassing, citing, or arresting homeless people for exercising the following rights:
To use and move freely in public spaces
To rest (sit, stand, & sleep)
To eat and share food
To pray
To occupy a legally parked vehicle
Extends the privacy rights afforded to homeowners to homeless people, preventing the unlawful seizure and destruction of their possessions.
#HB2367 continued
