It’s okay to let your body’s size fluctuate. It’s okay to also want to change it. Just always remember to be kind in doing so, it requires compassion as it processes your emotional challenges and stores your experiences within itself. Your body is more than just flesh and bones.
We seem to try make a clear distinction between body & mind when in fact, we need to recognise how they are both innately connected. Every experience you go through gets stored within your body after logic and reasoning are dealt with them.
That’s why negative behaviours are so hard to deal with. Things like over-eating/under-eating, nail-biting, jaw-locking are all small behaviours that stem from something previously experienced. We’re witness to what stress can do to our ability to move and function.
So be kind to your body. Figure out what it needs to support it. Understand it a little better so you’re able to figure out how to re-work negative behaviours into something positive instead. Take your time with your body.
It will change, and shift as it undergoes an uncomfortable process of being re-engineered. Be as patient as you can while this is happening and do not try to fight with it. You will only internalise conflict and aggravate these patterns if you choose to do so.
Your body is your vessel that allows you to perceive and experience the world. Treat it as it deserves to be treated instead of how you’ve been conditioned to treat it.
