This week’s feature is Jane Gershovich, a Seattle-based photographer who primarily shoots the local NWSL and MLS teams, and is entering her 9th year as the team photographer for the OL Reign.
Here’s some of what she had to say about her experience as a veteran in the field:

For Jane, photography has always been an integral part of her life, and she has now been a full-time professional photographer for 12 years.
“What started as wedding and sports photography has expanded to include families, commercial, and lifestyle photography.
I have been on the sidelines for Seattle’s most beloved teams, serving as a photographer for the Seattle Sounders, OL Reign, and the Seattle Seahawks.”
Getting into footy is nothing new to her either, and as for many of us is tied to our family and childhood upbringing:

“My dad introduced me to soccer at a young age. He was all about Brazillian soccer – Pele to Ronaldo and then there was Marta!
I played my whole life until a few years ago, had to walk away from the beautiful game due to injury. But photography has kept me on the sideline, and through my lens – deep into the game. I have been blessed to cover some big moments in soccer, from MLS Cups to World Cups.
My number one love is the women’s game. I am one of their biggest fans and biggest advocates. As the OL Reign team photographer, entering my 9th season now, I want to empower and elevate these players' voices through my imagery.”
Jane’s passion for photography is also seen in the overall capture of the human experience, and is evident in her work.

“What I love to photograph most is all the emotions! Documenting these incredible athletes do what they love, with all the blood, sweat and tears
I’m honored to be there and capture moments, the good, the bad - and being able to tell a story through my photographs.”
This goes in line with one of @JaneGPhoto’s most memorable experiences, as she was able to cover the 2015 Women’s World Cup Final that our beloved @USWNT won, capturing the pure joy of champs when lifting the trophy.
