I’m hearing folks wanting to travel to Japan once they get vaccinated.

Please be aware there is a mutated virus (E484K) in Japan right now that is strong against the current available vaccine. Meaning you can get sick, even if you got the vaccine.
Of the people who tested positive with Covid in Japan, ppl that caught the mutated strain:

30% was found with a more severe form of the mutation.
70% was found with E484K, which is the type thought the vaccine isn’t working against, and vaccinated people are getting sick with.
I just dont want people to think “I’m good, I got the vaccine” and just go on vacation and get sick or worse, spread it to more people.
Oh btw E484K - the one you can still get even if you got the vaccine?

It’s in the United States too, so keep your mask on friends. Stay safe.
Adding to this thread, in Osaka the hospital capacity is now reaching 70% filled with virus positive patients. This does not include patients receiving treatments at home.

80% of those patients are positive with the new mutated variants. Mostly E484K.
