Singh is inexperienced and arrogant,. The reason he lacks long term vision in the NDP context is he& #39;s not one of us ie. those who share Jack Layton& #39;s mind set. What a wasted opportunity this Liberal minority gov& #39;t situation is because Singh is ego driven rather than pragmatic.
IMHO Singh has failed to use the Liberal minority gov& #39;t situation realistically and appropriately as an ally focused on moving NDP policies forward via collaboration because he& #39;s focused on what he can& #39;t have ie. the PM& #39;s position. IMO the next gov& #39;t will be a Liberal majority.
1/2 Singh is delusional. We all know that all minority gov& #39;ts must be prepared for an election at all times as a non-confidence motion can be made when the Parliament is sitting. See the next tweet.
"The thought that the Liberals wouldn& #39;t commit not to having an election is so craven and so crass given the seriousness of what we& #39;re going through, the third wave increasing and the variants increasing," Singh said. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/ndp-convention-targets-inequality-as-contentious-planks-threaten-to-steal-spotlight-1.5380601">https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/...
At that same NDP convention "Broadbent drew comparisons between the Great Depression and the COVID-19 pandemic, saying both cataclysms offered an opportunity to rebuild social safety systems with government at the tiller." That can& #39;t be done without negotiation and collaboration.
