I acknowledge the incredible wealth gap that makes home ownership not attainable for most people of color right now. And this is some divide and conquer shit. I absolutely believe that a person who has helped launch a global movement for Black life should be able to have a house.

And the truth of the matter is, only 1 bedroom homes or studio condos cost less in California right now.

The problem isn’t that she bought a house, the problem is that home ownership takes having been a senior executive at a successful non-profit for a decade.

She lives inside the major city she grew up in! Home ownership prices in that area have exploded. Other than buying a studio condo, the only other choice would be moving to the Inland Empire moving her away from the people she’s working for/with. I hate it here.
