I still can’t begin to process the loss of DMX... it’s why I haven’t posted.

I got carjacked at gun point in 2007, the CD that was in the CD player was DMX: The Definition of X: The Pick of the Litter.

My life forever change that day. You what helped me rebound? I went right
Back to that album... the hurt. The pain. The prayer. The grime.... I’m from Brooklyn, NY so it all resonates with me.

Doesn’t matter that was playing while I got carjacked. Doesn’t matter I listened to that album prob 1000xs the moment it was released. It was probably one of
One of my last actual bought CDs 💿 in disc form.

Word for word. Bar for bar. Grit for grit and bark for bark. DMX, that album, helped me pick myself back up at the age of 17 heading to college on my own, by myself, with no support after just having been through all that.
It stuck. It resonated. It helped. Those close to me know exam what
Music is for me. I wouldn’t be here today without music.

So all that today.... #RIP king. You helped me. You were apart of what saved me. The tenacity at which I attack everything in life? Part of that came
From YOUR MUSIC. “ One more road to cross
One more risk to take
Gotta live my life
Like there's one more move to make”

Thank you. #RipDMX
