I'm on the State COVID media call for today.
Progress continues on vaccinations. MVU's (mobile are hitting the road and traveling to rural parts of the state.
I asked about adult entertainment and the perceived disparity between topless shows which are operating on the strip and strip clubs which, so far, have not been able to resume normal operations.
Caleb Cage says the restrictions relate to the behavior and activity between customers and performers. Strip clubs have a much closer contact and therefore were subject to different restrictions.
He says based on previous directives, the decision to reopen adult entertainment, specific to strip clubs, is up to counties, especially after May 1 when covid safety controls transition to local control.
NEXT QUESTION: about @EDC_LasVegas announcing to move forward despite a rejection of a safety plan.
Caleb Cage: NV Business and Industry will continue to approve (or reject) plans until June 30, even though transition of safety protocols from state to local control on May 1.
next question from @Stanton_Tang regarding the mask mandate and when local counties can remove requirement. Caleb Cage says they are following CDC guidelines and that will determine the direction of mask usage.
Question about the recent reporting for cases and showing massive amounts of tests. This is from labs that are are catching up due to number of factors, such as IT, logistics, etc. from late march.
