As all lawyers SHOULD know, the bar exam isnât an exam that measures competency. It is racist and ableist, and itâs irrelevant to the actual practice of law. Studying hundreds, and even thousands, of hours for this exam makes applicants very susceptible to depression.
Add in a global pandemic, social injustice around the world, and your own personal issues...you have a recipe for disaster. Plus, as a retaker, the bar presents even more mental and emotional obstacles. Youâre constantly reminded that you failed while your classmates celebrate.
But, Iâm glad God took me this route because Heâs taught me to rely on His plan, His purpose, and His timing. The spiritual growth Iâve experienced by not passing the first time makes it all worth it.
