In order to attract people and especially families back into the city you need to make them family friendly. So I propose the idea of

Residential Streets...

Newenham St is perfect for this and a great place to start off with if families are to be attracted back into the city
It is in my mind an unnecessary street. It fills no purpose other than a rat run. No businesses are there, no trees are there, no benches are there but plenty of parking.

A few buildings are occupied and that's it. Now if you close off the street to traffic and leave it as a ...
Residential street..

The residents will make full use of the street, it might attract families as kids can play on the street like in the 1900's & it would be a template for other cities to copy Limerick. Parking can done on the main route or access should be giving to residents
There is a few more I have in mind but I will start with this one as Number 5 is for sale there and two buildings are been repaired. No 5 might suit me but I have to look at it yet.

Residential streets will help revive the city along with the laneways been fixed up too.
An unnecessary street to me is a car parking street. It's useless otherwise when people can park in carpark easily. They still have to pay either way. With limited space let's make better use it of it IMO...
@MarketaDee you live there on this street I think.

What you think of my proposal???
