In mid-March, when Germany's vaccination programme looked doomed, @SDullien and @AndrewWattEU argued that the country could vaccinate all adults by the end of July. The pattern in recent weeks has followed their projection. Jab numbers in the past two days have far outpaced it. https://twitter.com/SDullien/status/1380440587355234305
The improvement is largely a result of supply improvements and (especially) GPs being allowed to administer vaccinations. Wednesday brought 669k vaccinations, over double the previous record. Yesterday brought 720k vaccinations.
Hopefully it will continue at this pace or faster. But questions still need to be asked (in Berlin and Brussels) about why supply was so slow in the first 3 months of the programme and (in Berlin and state capitals) why it took so long for GPs to be authorised to give vaccines.
