Alright, now is as good a time as ever to do a thread like this. There is not only consensus within the medical field that trans people’s identities are valid, but that sex is a bimodal model as opposed to a binary model. Let’s begin (1) https://twitter.com/realshekinahh/status/1380339295253303303">https://twitter.com/realsheki...
First, let’s start with a disclaimer: I am by no means a qualified expert in biology, but I do pride myself on proper research and being able to find those who are qualified, and using their work to form a more complete worldview. (2)
Let’s start with a list of reputable scientific and social organizations that affirm validity of trans people (that transgenderism is not a mental illness, that there is a difference between sex and gender, etc.) The science is not up for debate, there is consensus between...(3)

Alright, now that we’ve cleared the “trans people exist” bar, let’s talk like adults. Cornell University published a MASSIVE meta-analysis of 56 studies on post-transition mental health, with 52 indicating that transition had a positive effect on mental health (6)
...and the other 4 indicating mixed or no results. How considerate of Cornell University to save us all the time of finding all 56 studies by putting them all in one place, right? https://whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lgbt-equality/what-does-the-scholarly-research-say-about-the-well-being-of-transgender-people/">https://whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lg...
Here’s a longitudinal study that followed 55 trans youths over a period of 8 years. A really cool highlight from this one is that it cross-references the general public’s psychological function as well, solidifying the assertion that transition works https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25201798/ ">https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25201798/...
