A fellow ‘diagnosed as an adult’.
It’s interesting to read other people’s experience of ADHD & compare for gender, race etc - my experience is very different to James’, for example.
That goes to show: whatever you think ADHD is, it’s likely a misconception. https://twitter.com/j_bloodworth/status/1380442264615391232">https://twitter.com/j_bloodwo...

There have been A LOT of these pieces in the big papers, particularly in the past 2 years. A lot of them are from white men.
Sometimes, it’s a white woman usually in the “mine went undetected because girls present different to boys” and even more rare is the black woman’s exp.

They’re all so... generic & bland like white bread.
The best account I’ve come across is by from Jordan Stephens from Rizzle Kicks. The way he expressed his experience of ADHD, mental health, upbringing & being mixed race was layered, thought provoking, analytical, & different.

Idk, those pieces from the white men & women & black women don’t really resonate with me. They read like blog posts. Jordan’s was something else. I can’t remember where I came across it, but I recall tweeting it during the beginning of lockdown in case anyone else remembers?
