When doing your own DD big boards or OTC check these

Past filings ( SEC filings website or http://OTCMarkets.com"> http://OTCMarkets.com  )

Chart ( floor set ? , spike history ,etc)

Share structure (Public Float / AS )

Social media chatter ( who traded it before ? Whose currently on it ?)

Past filings - Find forward statements , be early ( any statement with a timeline really )

Chart- floor -avg price area that no one really sells under ,

spike history -how the stock reacted to previous updates

SM chatter- good traders on it ?

Search financial filings to see if there are convertible notes or debt. Stocks that don’t have any or very little run a it better because there aren’t insiders selling a ton of shares. Not always the case but good to look out for.
