A few reminders on this #RevPit eve.

Each editor is choosing ONE manuscript out of ONE HUNDRED. This isn't a determination on whether your writing, your story, or YOU are good enough to be chosen. We are not looking for agent-ready manuscripts. We are looking for potential.

And if we don't choose you, that doesn't mean your writing, your story, or YOU don't have potential. It means there are reasons, sometimes even subjective, why we passed. The most important thing you can do is look at the MSWLs of the editors to see who matches best. #RevPit

This process can be frustrating when you're waiting for a request for additional materials and you don't receive one. It can also be frustrating if you receive a request and you aren't chosen. You are allowed to feel however you feel. #RevPit

Remember to protect your mental and physical health over the next two weeks (and after). Put yourself first. If you need to mute the hashtag, that's fine. If you need to step away, that's fine. Come back when you're ready. #RevPit

But please do not let it deter you from continuing your writing journey. These contests are not meant to dishearten you. They are meant to uplift you and help you. Take what you need and leave the rest here. #RevPit
