Been fuming over a HuffPost article by a former bully who says he tormented people because he didn't want them to know he was gay. He became the worst kind of bully: not the physical kind, but the ones who spot weakness and exploit it to the amusement of the rest of the school.
I would tell this guy, who no doubt did SO much lasting damage, A) Sorry for your troubles, dude, but B) as one of the bullied (not by him, I should add), your identity issues do NOT balance the lifetime of trauma you inflicted. Rather than virtue-signaling your enlightenment...
...how about just going away and not bringing up the worst memories in a lot of people's lives? Even though you didn't bully me personally, I know that I'm now dwelling on the torment I got for wearing glasses, reading books, and sucking at sports, and it's pretty much cost me...
...a whole day's work. So yeah, congrats, you're STILL fucking people up despite your "sincere" apologies. (Deliberately not linking to the story; not hard to find if you're curious.)
