What are your bi opinions that would result in this reaction?
Biphobia isn't actually more severe in GL communities, it's just less transparent. GL people are complicit in biphobia, but they are not the source of bi oppression. Suggesting otherwise is scapegoating and is problematic.
Monosexual privilege is real. I coined this term in attempt to focus discussion on cishet power over- and oppression of- bi people, and to draw attention away from the scapegoating of gay and lesbian people for biphobia.
Bi women are allowed to want threesomes, be polyamorous, and love sex with multiple people. They are not the cause of bimisogynist stereotypes.
Bi activism focusing on begging for crumbs from GL organizations is a waste of fucking time and effort. We should be putting all this energy into grassroots work, building our own infrastructure and networks of support.
Bisexuality and pansexuality are not mutually exclusive. Bisexuality isn't inherently transphobic and pansexuality isn't inherently biphobic.
Bisexuality was largely defined and spoken about in binary and cissexist ways before pansexuality came into prominence. It course-corrected, but pansexuality was the source of that push.
Bi lesbians are valid af. They are not responsible for cishet male violence against lesbians. In fact, they are statistically far more likely than lesbians to be survivors of sexual violence, i.e. this type of discourse is victim blaming.
Okay but also the thing about bi opinions is that no matter what they are, they will result in this reaction. Because bi.
