As a native Los Angeleno, these videos are getting on my nerves. Creating a narrative that Black women aren’t desirable in CA because one random Black man didn’t speak to you is ridiculous. https://twitter.com/Carolinas_94/status/1380297429438885889
There is a possibility that man wasn’t single. That incel energy is off putting and people can pick up on it. I’m noticing that a lot of younger people don’t have any social skills or “game.”
USC is probably one of the best opportunities for Black women to date. Maybe USC is different now but when I was attending, men stayed trying to holler at me and I wasn’t one of the fashionistas on campus. I was minding my business and doing my thing.
No one wants to talk about this, but I’m going to say it, many of you are going after the same athlete/ wannabe social media guru/Hollywood crowd. Many of those dudes, regardless of race, are weird.
Every time I see one of these videos or social media posts, the chick is always awkward or off. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy if you go into situations thinking someone doesn’t like you for whatever reason.
I will acknowledge that LA has a higher beauty standard compared to other places. You are going to be at a disadvantage if you aren’t fit or well put together. It’s not a Black issue but LA in general.
