1/3 Walking my dog. Guy came up (no mask) and asked if I were Chinese. Said he wanted to be able to "guess" correctly when he met another Asian. Not the 1st time this happened but today I& #39;m thinking about it in relation to #stopaapihate
https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> and how these questions are racist.
2/3 Guy said "I hope this isn& #39;t off-putting." I said "yes actually it is." With all injustice that happened esp this past year, I& #39;ve become better at confronting (which I usually am not). Guy got away before I gave him a lesson on xenophobia and the perpetual foreigner stereotype
3/3 I& #39;m curious, have you encountered similar situations where people asked where you& #39;re from in a clearly #racist and #antiAsian manner, but also masking it by insisting on some good/naive intention? How do you respond? Also kudos to my dog for giving that guy some solid borks
