Ryan Gravenberch analysis. {A Thread}. Please RT so more people can see my posts.
First off, Gravenberch is just 18 years old and is a regular starter for the Dutch giants, Ajax Amsterdam. He stands tall at 190cm {6FT3"}. This season Gravenberch has started 25/27 games this season scoring 3 goals and collecting 5 assists along the way. Good number from a teen.
Ryan Gravenberch started 6/6 games in the UCL this season. Scoring 1 and assisting 0. Ajax came 3rd in the group relegating them to the Europa League. Gravenberch then started 4 out of the 5 games Ajax have played so far, playing the full 90 in all 4.
Now let& #39;s look at some of his strengths. Gravenberch is very good at striking the ball from long distances, 2 of the 3 goals he has scored this season in the Eredevisie have been from outside of the box, and all of his goals in the UCL (1) have been from outside the box.
With Gini Wijnaldum set to leave #LFC at the end of the season #LFC will be looking for a long term replacement soon. As you can see from the heat map below Gravenberch plays in a fairly free role allowing him to run up and down the pitch in a box to box role.
{Gini Wijnaldum& #39;s heat map} In this heatmap we can clearly see that Wijnaldum plays more towards the left side of the field as does Gravenberch. However, you can also tell that Gravenberch covers more of the field than Gini.
Now let& #39;s compare both of there playmaking and defensive contributions per game. Both of which are a strength of Gravenberch. As you can see on the left Gravenberch has a higher number on every single stat than Gini Wijnaldum both defensively and attacking wise.
