It’s never “too late” to start a YouTube channel.
Here’s a thread with some reasons why

Viewers want to discover new creators. This behaviour hasn’t changed in 15 years and it won’t going forward (IMO!)
Look at the last 10 creators you’ve watched. I’d be willing to bet you’ve discovered at least 50% them in the last 2 years.

Having a small audience gives you the opportunity to focus on a niche and make relatable content. Just like the start-up world, you can’t begin trying to be the new google, but you can find a niche and grow from there.
YouTube is a meritocracy. It doesn’t matter your sub count, if you can deliver viral metrics. You will go viral.
I started an experiment channel last year and my first video got 3.6 million views.

YouTube studio also helps us understand video performance better than ever before. Study your CTR and retention charts. We didn’t have this data 5 years ago!
It’s important to remember it’s not who did it first, it’s who did it best. Having first movers advantage is important but there’s always room for quality.
Nearly all big YouTube channels have a shelf life. There’s a few exceptions like @MKBHD @MrBeast etc.
but it’s rare for people to stay at the top for more than a few years. A lot of the people who will be on top in 2025 have under 100 subscribers right now.

It’s so much easier to make a living with a smaller channel now than it was 5 years ago. Adsense pays more, brand deals have doubled, memberships..
I make approx 10x on my current channel than I did with the same monthly views (500k-1.5 million) on a different channel in 2015.

I’m obviously biased because this is my business and career, but I firmly believe that the “creator economy” will only grow from here. I don’t think it’s too late, I think it’s still early!
There’s countless case studies, my friend @jamesvjani started his channel last year and he’s already at 700k. How? I’ve seen his analytics. He made extremely high quality videos that got killer AVD and CTR.
Lastly there’s more individuals putting out great free knowledge than ever before. Watch out for @RaptorDaRaptor ‘s deep dives on clubhouse. @DanLambert_ is becoming a shorts expert. @robertoblake gives no nonsense business advice for creators. The list goes on...
This is my first time making a short YouTube thread, if it does well I’ll do more so retweet!

Oh and a bit of self promo but I do offer consulting calls for YouTubers and businesses. DM for details.
I only do a few each week. I’ll keep giving free information on here and my channel as long as I’m still alive :)
