/ This was the response from @MCPS to a parent asking about plans to move to the CDC& #39;s new 3 ft guidance. Clearly they do not understand the guidance. @RebeccaOnBoard @KarlaSilvestre6 @Lynne4Students @hansriemer @willjawando @MonifaRMS @brendawolff1
/ Can someone please explain to @MCPS that 3 ft is allowed in MS and HS without cohorts when community is not in red zone? We are solidly in orange now. @mocoboe @RebeccaOnBoard @CaitlynnPeetz14 @DonnaStGeorge @TPCarney
/ Unfortunately, this misunderstanding has spread to our council members and even @MoCoDHHS . A council member& #39;s staff has also shared in correspondence that MS and HS cannot go to 3 feet unless in cohorts. @Jill4allMoCo @CmHucker @willjawando @hansriemer @Marc_Elrich @mocoboe
/ We just learned from this article that 63% of @MCPS schools have students waiting to enter classrooms. Moving to 3 ft would solve this problem. Why is MCPS hesitant to follow CDC guidelines for the good of our students who need in-person instruction? https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/prince-georges-county-maryland-schools-reopen/2021/04/08/8ebdeb2c-972b-11eb-a6d0-13d207aadb78_story.html?fbclid=IwAR36XCLqZSwyZm2VV0X0oeYdRRpYBEgc6LOv6gcyqKZ9MxB1pDXWH0uGC8E">https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/edu...
/ Many counties, including Fairfax and most recently Alexandria, have announced 3 feet. The have a better understanding of the CDC guidance. What is it that @mcps doesn& #39;t get? The guidance is very clear. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/alexandria-schools-three-feet-distance/2021/04/08/af6ca03c-98b3-11eb-a6d0-13d207aadb78_story.html?fbclid=IwAR2UAzM_9Oi6d9BWJRlQB17mMSaimAOmUsjAf3YGKqzM85eIpGLKPBHKwDs">https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/edu...
