What #boardgames contain mechanics/principles that appeal to #dataviz enthusiasts. A list of ideas in this thread... can you think of others?
Micro Macro from @spielwiese by Johannes Sich. Gestalt theory use visual encoding to allow us to see and group things together. Micro Macro makes everything blend together so that stories are hidden in plain sight in this wonderful whodunnit. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/318977/micromacro-crime-city
Maps are fundamental to many #boardgames and to #dataviz so choosing one game is super-hard. But I'll go with Pandemic Legacy by @mattleacock and @robdaviau. In part because it's soooo good, but also because you change the map through the campaign https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/161936/pandemic-legacy-season-1
Fog of Love by @jacobjaskov is a game about relationships. It's in the list because rule-learning is embedded in the gameplay itself. How we get people to understand data narratives is a similar challenge. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/175324/fog-love
Colt Express by @flagadur. A lot of data science is about programming so how about a game that is about programming movement, and the joy of what happens when it goes wrong? https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/158899/colt-express
What other games involve key #dataviz principles? cc'ing my board game geek friends for other ideas... @AlbertoCairo @TimHarford @alangwilson @ChrisLuv @AnnUJackson @pettiross
