A thread on Manchester United since our loss to Sheffield. Have we made any progress? (A Thread)
1) Since our 2-1 loss to Sheffield, we have kept clean sheets in 11 out of 17 games. Those 11 games are:

0-0 vs Arsenal
9-0 vs Southampton
1-0 vs West Ham
4-0 vs Sociedad
0-0 vs Sociedad
0-0 vs Chelsea
0-0 vs Palace
2-0 vs Man City
1-0 vs West Ham
1-0 vs Milan
2-0 vs Granada
2) The games we haven’t kept clean sheets in have been:

3-3 vs Everton
1-1 vs West Brom
3-1 vs Newcastle
1-1 vs Milan
1-3 vs Leicester
2-1 vs Brighton
3) So in the 17 games since the loss to Sheffield, we’ve scored 31 goals and only conceded 10 goals

7 wins, 7 draws and 1 loss in all competitions
4) We have picked up 20 points from a possible 30 in the Premier League, have progressed to the quarter finals of the Europa League and been knocked out the FA Cup by Leicester
5) Now let’s compare this to our 17 previous games before the Sheffield United loss

We got 11 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. We picked up 27 points in the Prem out of a possible 33 points, progressed to the Round of 16 of the FA Cup and got knocked out of the UCL
6) To conclude, we kept 6 clean sheets and scored 32 goals in the 17 games before the Sheffield loss compared to 10 clean sheets and 31 goals scored in the 17 games since

We picked up 27 prem points out of a possible 33, compared to 20 prem points out of a possible 30
7) Have we made progress?

Yes and no. Our defensive record has improved massively - 22 goals conceded before Sheffield compared to 10 goals conceded since. Our goal scoring record has stayed about the same and points in the prem has stayed similar
8) In my opinion, we have slightly progressed since the Sheffield loss. The main progress being the defence. Other than that, I think it’s roughly equal
