1. A mother in China discovered on her son’s wedding day that the woman he was about to marry was her estranged daughter.

The mother, called Xi, noticed a birthmark on the bride’s hand, which she realised was identical to the one belonging to the baby she lost two decades ago.

2. Xi then asked the bride’s parents if their daughter was adopted.

Having kept the adoption a family secret, the parents were shocked.

They revealed that they had found the bride by the roadside over 20 years ago and had raised her as their own child.

3. Xi then broke into tears, claiming the bride was indeed her daughter. The bride also broke down, saying she had long been searching for her biological mother.

The bride said finding her mother was a happier occasion than the wedding itself.
