Kashi Viswanath mandir’s history of vandalism :

1. Aibak as commander of Ghori -1192,
2. Either by Hussain Shah Sharqi (1447–1458), or Sikandar Lodhi (1489–1517)
3. Shahjahan wanted to destroy it in 1632, but failed owing to Hindu opposition, and finally
4. Aurangzeb in 1669.
