WHY DODOSOLSOLLALASOL IS THE WORST DRAMA OF ALL TIME: A MEGATHREAD

technically, it isn’t the worst drama as a whole. there are some dramas that start off trashy and end off trashy (talking about you, love alarm https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👀" title="Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Augen">) but DDSSLLS actually started off good. it started go ara, one of my favourite actresses (who doesn’t deserve hate ppl give her).
she nailed her character and so did lee jae wook who is good in tsundere roles. the supporting cast was also really good. i liked the reverse trope of a rich girl-poor guy concept and things were very cute in the beginning and there was potential for a good show.
the first offence: making the ML a high school student.

things were cute but soon came the first shocking secret: the ML is a high school student. a romance between a grown adult and a student?? just so wrong. how do you expect audiences possibly root for this couple??? nonono.
the ML being a chaebol’s underaged son puts a different spin to everything to all the CP’s prior interactions. iirc, they also had their first kiss BEFORE the ML tells the FL he is a student. the show is about the romance, so if you can’t root it, then there is something wrong.
second offender: the whole stalker plot line

since this show basically had no plot at all, they decided to insert a creepy stalker and it’s SUPER obvious he’s just there so that the show can hit 16 eps. the stalker plot line doesn’t match the light tone of the show at all.
there are shows that mixed romance with stalker plot well (WTCB), but in this case it doesn’t move the story forward at all. the characters don’t grow from this incident and it’s basically just filler.
third offender: ex girlfriend

as aforementioned, this show basically has no plot. so how do they extend this show to 16 eps? add in stupid tropes like the ex girlfriend. i can’t remember why anymore but the ML pretended to like the ex gf even tho he clearly likes the FL??? what?
fourth offender: leukaemia
the ML has been having bloody nose for quite sometime, and it turns out that he actually has leukaemia. another filler plot line. at this point, i had to roll my eyes https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙄" title="Gesicht mit rollenden Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit rollenden Augen">. can’t the writer just let them be happily ever after???
come to think of it, i suspect kim soon ok is the writer of dodosolsol. since she loves to make her characters suffer (exhibit A: Suryeon), this plot line seems like something she will write. BUT THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE ML AND THE FL IS SO ANNOYING.
JUST FREAKING TELL HER U ARE SICK U çŹšè›‹!!!!!!!!! he goes to the US for treatment, and LIES to the FL that’s he’s studying. but the worst is yet to come.
WORST OFFENDER: THE TRASH ENDING

this show is alr getting annoying but i never imagined that the ML would actually end up dying. say what??? the ML’s mother comes to the FL and tells her he has died and he has been sick for months??????? I’m-
of course the FL loses it and so does every single character in the show. what kind of rom com ever ends up with a SAD ENDING? melodrama, i can understand, but rom com?

anyway, the writer decided NO, i am not going for the sad ending. idk went through her mind when she wrote it?
few years later, FL is on a hill, and ML comes out of nowhere. FL thinks she’s imagining things, but ML said no, i wasn’t dead??????? FL asks why did you lie to me, and ML says “I WANTED TO WAIT TILL I WAS FULLY RECOVERED” LITERALLY THE WORST LINE IN THE DECADE OF KDRAMAS!!!!
WHO THE FREAK EVEN LIES TO SOMEONE YOU LOVE THAT YOU DIED???? the worst ML of the century. what happened to the sweet and caring boy in the first few eps??? pls are you so sure that the FL still will like you after you were gone for so many years??? AFTER ALL THAT LYING??

thinking back to the scene where the ML’s mother told the FL he died makes me so angry. how can someone be so evil - seeing the FL cry buckets of tears in front of you and you still continue on the lie so that your son can wait till he is “fully recovered”????
i remember watching a hong kong drama where the ML randomly died while driving on the motorcycle and the ending scene is the FL holding his body and crying. i was traumatised after watching that like when i was around 10. but this ending? 100000000 times worse.
DODOSOLSOL, you will have a place forever in my heart. i don’t think i will ever forget about you. want to watch a romance drama? watch oh hae young again. a drama about piano? watch DYLB. a feel good story? watch hello me. a much better go ara show? watch miss hammurabi.
