[tdbk, familiars, witch baku, vampire todo]

🍀

Katsuki had been excited to get his own familiar when he was a kid. They usually appeared around ages of five and ten.

He wanted to have a strong familiar that would be his best friend. Watch him brew potions and call him smart!
So imagine Katsuki’s surprise when at age four his familiar appears in the form a nine year old vampire

His name is Shoto, he has split hair, that is red and white and his face is really pretty

But Katsuki wanted a dragon hybrid or a werewolf not a boy with heterochromatic eyes
“I want a different one”

Katsuki looked at the vampire with a glare, he didn’t like this guy. His mom was quick to smack him upside the head.

“Sorry about my son, he’s not fully there”

Shoto laughs a little at Katsuki. Yup he definitely didn’t like this vampire.

🧛🏻 💞🔮🧹
The hag makes him keep the stupid blood sucking boy. Apparently there’s no return policies on familiars.

If Katsuki was gonna be stuck with Shoto he needed to train the vampire to be a strong enough companion.

“We’re going on an adventure!”
Katsuki’s parents looked at the two boys with a smile. They knew it would take some time for their so to warm up to Shoto, but they seem to be getting closer.

Even though Katsuki denies it, Shoto always agrees with them. Saying that Katsuki is his best friend.
While on their journey Katsuki is stopped by a group of kids and their familiars.

“Look at that Bakugou ended up getting a puny little vampire”

“What can that thing even do?”

“I bet that he’s stronger than his own useless familiar”
Katsuki stood up and yelled at them, instead of backing down. He wasn’t ashamed of Shoto.

At least not anymore. Only Katsuki can make fun of his hybrid, every other extra has to be nice to Shoto.

“What can that shitty bird even do? My familiar can kill you and he drinks blood”
cw: blood, depictions of violence, burn marks
“It’s a phoenix and if you want to see how strong my hybrid is, let’s see if you can take him”

The bird hesitated before following the command. Wings setting ablaze and sending a flame towards Katsuki.
He couldn’t move it felt like he was paralyzed. Katsuki didn’t know what to do, he just watched as the fire came closer to his face.

But he was pushed out of the way and Shoto took the hit.

Katsuki chased away the boys before going back to his familiar. He picked Shoto-
up as best as he could and carried him home.

By the time Katsuki got to the door Masaru opened it already. He could hear his son crying from down the pathway leading to their house.

“Shoto got hurt, it’s really bad and all my fault”
🧛🏻💞🔮🧹

After the burn incident Katsuki stopped talking to Shoto. He blamed himself for it and didn’t want to see the vampires face.

Every time he did it reminded him of how he could protect Shoto. Katsuki made a promise to himself to never let his familiar get hurt again.
Shoto was fine, he knew that Kastuki felt bad. But he didn’t want the younger boy to blame himself.

He missed when the blond would yell at him or put laughing potions in his soba. Shoto just missed Katsuki.

They lasted like this for two months before Mitsuki forced her stubborn
son to talk to Shoto.

Being separated from your familiar for a short amount of time can make you hurt.

But this long without seeing Shoto must have been unbearable for Katsuki.
The pain doesn’t affect the familiar, Shoto thinks Katsuki is punishing himself by taking this pain.

Honestly knowing that Katsuki is in pain because of him hurts more than the burn.
“I’m not unlocking this door until you two work this out”

Mitsuki slammed the door and closed multiple locks. Since she’s a fellow witch she hexed them all, just in case Katsuki tried anything.

Shoto walked over to the younger boy and tried to sit down next to him.
He could feel Katsuki’s shoulders relax and Shoto felt relieved that he wasn’t in as much pain.

“When people make decisions and go through with them you can’t blame yourself for the outcome”
The room is quiet and Katsuki is still looking away from the vampire.

“I knew that it would have hurt me more to watch you get burned than to take the hit myself”

“Why did you get to make the choice?!”
Katsuki finally turned around. This is the first time he’s seen Shoto’s face in months.

Still pretty as ever. Even with a scar on the right side of his eye.

Shoto looked back at him, wanting to wipe the tears away and tell Katsuki everything was gonna be okay.
He’s still a kid after all, they both are. But Shoto feels responsible over Katsuki as his familiar and something more that he can’t name.

The feeling that makes his heart clench when he sees that rare smile or hears his genuine laugh.

The one where Katsuki snorts and giggles.
The blond was only ten and Shoto was fifteen. He felt the need to take care of Katsuki and protect him from all of the bad things in this world.

Make sure to never let Katsuki get hurt. Not even get close to harms way.

There was this need to just lock Katsuki up and keep him-
happy. Away from the bad people that want to take advantage of his kindness or nativity

“Why did you have to do that? I could have taken the burn just as easily”

Katsuki was sobbing now, Shoto pulled the smaller boy in for a hug.

“I’m your familiar, it’s my job to protect you”
Shoto knew that there was only some truth in that statement. Yes, he did protect Katsuki out of instinct as his familiar.

But there’s a much larger part that did it because he didn’t want to see Katsuki in pain.

A place deep in his heart that he didn’t want to admit existed.
When he looked at the crying boy Shoto knew that all his love did was hurt Katsuki even more.

So he’d have to lock away these feelings, push them down and ignore it.

As long as Katsuki was safe, nothing else mattered.

“How about we watch that hero movie you like? All mike”
“It’s Allmight dummy”

Shoto looked at Katsuki and wiped away the tears from his face

“I get to be the big spoon!”

“You’re too little for that Katsuki”

Shoto just opened his arms and Katsuki laid down

“Shoto, I won’t let it happen ever again”

It was a promise

“Shoto I’m gonna hang out with Deku after school, so you don’t need to walk me home”

The vampire had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Midoriya, a nice boy but one that was a little too chummy with Katsuki.

“See you later then”

Ever since Katsuki started school the two of
them have been stuck together. Watching Allmight movies, playing with action figures, making up games and always just the two.

Midoriya would always tell Shoto that these are two player games. Only for Deku and Kacchan, they have cute little nicknames.

“Woah, are you okay”
Shoto looked up to see that he snapped the pen that was in his hand. The ink spilling onto his desk and messing up his uniform.

“I’m fine Iida, just distracted”

Katsuki even cheered Deku up when they found out he didn’t have a familiar.
Shoto just wishes he lived in a timeline where Katsuki hated Midoriya because he didn’t have a familiar.

Then the boy would stop bothering Shoto.

But the vampire expected Katsuki to have a somewhat rebellious phase. He’s fourteen now and he probably doesn’t want Shoto-
coddling him.

It’s not cool to hang out with your nineteen year old familiar.

Shoto misses the time when Katsuki would drag him everywhere. Showing off his vampire familiar and boasting about Shoto.

Now he’d rather be caught dead than with Shoto. It’s tiring and all Shoto-
wants is to hug the blond and never let him go. Keep Katsuki away from Midoriya and the other kids at school that say it’s weird to be that close to your familiar.

Shoto’s been doing research on relationships between people and their familiars. It’s actually pretty common,
not even seen as taboo. Completely normal to everyone and even seen as cute.

But how can he expect to form a relationship with Katsuki when the blond keeps avoiding him.

It’s hard to even spend more than ten minutes alone with Katsuki.
The younger boy keeps getting cold like symptoms when he’s near Shoto. His face heats up, he stutters and his voice gets soft.

Is Katsuki allergic to Shoto?!

The vampire spends the rest of the night googling the possibility of being allergic to a familiar.
Can you be allergic to your familiar?

Can you be allergic to vampires?

Is a crush a fatal illness?

Do crushes kill people?

Shoto found the word crush through some of these search results. Now he’s trying to figure out what it is.
A crush seems to be some sort of mental illness that plagues the mind.

Like a love sickness. This means that Shoto is crushing on Katsuki.

How to tell if you have a crush?

Is it gay to like guys?

What is a gay panic?

How to solve gay panic?

Shoto decides to give up on the-
research for tonight. He closes Katsuki’s laptop and puts it back on his desk.

He decides to ask Mitsuki to make him a bowl of soba in blood for dinner.

When Katsuki gets home from hanging out with Deku he opens his laptop to get his homework done.
But he looks through his search history and finds something weird.

Was Shoto asking all of these questions? He’s the only one dumb enough to not clear his history first.

So Shoto likes someone that’s a guy and he thinks that Katsuki is a allergic to him.

Just great.
The blond fell down against his bed and tried not to let the tears fall down.

He wasn’t gonna cry over this, he didn’t even deserve Shoto. The vampire probably wants to be with an older guy that can protect him.

Katsuki decided he’s gonna need to start getting over Shoto.
Maybe he would take shitty hair up on his offer.

Dating might help Katsuki ignore the way he feels when thinking about Shoto kissing another guy.

Katsuki wasn’t gonna let his heart get in the way of things. He needed to see Shoto either way, they live together.
He was gonna grow some balls and just act like nothing happened. Start spending more time with Shoto again.

Date Kirishima and try his best to forget about the way his familiar makes him feel.

🧛🏻💞🔮🧹
“Really bro!”

“Yes, but you better not call me your bro if we’re going to date”

“Sorry Bakugou”

Katsuki just rolled his eyes at the red head. He had nothing against Kirishima, but the dragon hybrid isn’t an older vampire with dual coloured hair.

All he wanted was Shoto.
Katsuki decided to push those thoughts away and make the best out of this situation.

He doesn’t hate Kirishima and can tolerate him. That says a lot, considering the fact Deku is his only other friend.

That is if you don’t count Shoto. But they were destined to be together.
Just not as lovers.

Katsuki shook his head and decided to pay attention to Kiri. The boy was trying to win him a stuffed animal.

Biting his lip as he concentrated, looking closely at the game and making sure to aim carefully.

He’s actually pretty handsome, not beautiful or-
gorgeous like a vampire he knows. But a more manly or rugged kind of attractive.

And he makes Katsuki smile. Isn’t that all that mattered in a relationship?

“I’ll win the toy for you shitty hair”

-

The two of them walked home together holding hands as Kiri told Katsuki a-
story. They were nearing his house and Katsuki was contemplating whether or not he wanted to introduce Kiri to them.

The two of them have been dating for a couple of weeks. Only the hag and Deku know, so he still has to tell his and Shoto.

Katsuki doesn’t need to feel guilty-
all he’s trying to do is get over this stupid crush.

It’s for the best he thinks as they walk into the house.

Going to the living room where all three of them are sitting. His mom gives Shoto a look that Katsuki doesn’t understand before the blond speaks up.
“This is Kirishima, my boyfriend”
