THREAD: a plan for English domestic cricket (hopefully will cause a debate)!
County Championship to be two divisions, split into 8 and 10.
T20 Blast to be played alongside The Hundred.
One-Day Cup to be promoted back to a proper tournament (removing developmental status).

Championship: Division 1 to be 8 teams, to help create an ‘elite’ first-class bubble.
The best first-class cricketers playing against each other will help develop international players.
Each team plays each other home and away - 14 first-class games.
Bottom club gets relegated

Championship: Div 2 to see the remaining 10 teams play each other once - 9 first-class games.
The top two will play a showpiece final at Lord’s, an equivalent to this year’s Bob Willis Trophy - winner gets promoted.
BWT in current format is utterly pointless.

The Hundred: English cricket is dying, both in terms of popularity and participation - it needs a new franchise comp.
If The Hundred attracts a new audience as planned, these fans will want to go watch T20 at their local county.

...alongside each other, creating a mini T20 season. Will help the non-Test playing counties attract new fans, unable to attend Hundred matches.
Current schedule sees T20/Hundred being played for majority of the season, marginalising other formats.

One-Day Cup: England are the world’s 50-over champs - this needs to be played properly.
Current schedule is also causing division against traditional and new fans - many will boycott The Hundred to watch the One-Day Cup.
It will become a battle for English cricket’s soul.
